FAQ

  • Can I wax on my period?
Absolutely! We have waxed many women on their periods for both body and intimate waxes. Due to fluctuating hormones your skin may be a little more sensitive than usual. All we ask for intimate waxing is that snaitary products are used.
  • Is it safe to wax when im pregnant?
Yes! However there are some t&c's with this. We are able to do body waxing on all pregnant women except for the stomach and intimate waxing until you have reached your second trimester. Once you are into your second trimester we are able to do full body waxing including intimate. We have an adjustable bed so you are not lying flat on your back and will always allow extra time to make sure you are comfortable. Like waxing during your period, fluctuating hormones can make waxing a little more uncomfortable whilst pregnant.
  • How often should I wax?
First time waxers should wax every 4 - 6 weeks for the first few waxes. Hair grows in cycles and it will take 3 - 4 waxes to remove all this hair, waxing regularly will encourage your hair into a growth cycle meaning results will last longer. After your first 3 - 4 REGULAR (no hair removal inbetween) waxes, you may find you still need to come for a wax once every 6 weeks, others may not require a wax until 8 weeks, this will depend on the individual.
  • I recently had surgery, how long should I wait to wax?"
We will not wax over a scar for at LEAST six months! This is the absolute minimum although some scars do take longer to heal. Not only the recovery on top of the skin but we want to make sure everything below skin level is heald before we start pressing and pulling the skin. We cannot wax too close to the scar either as pulling the skin taught may cause damage. Once it is fully healed any scarring will be waxed over in small sections.
  • Do I need to tell you if my medication changes?
Yes! If you start taking new medication it is important to let us know. Some medications may only require a doctors note however, others carry a high risk of damage to the skin when waxed.
  • Can you put numbing cream on before a wax?
NO! It is your responsibility to tell us if you have used numbing cream before your treatment, if we have any reason to suspect oyu have a simple test will be carried out. Under no circumstances will we wax anyone who has used numbing cream over the area that will be waxed.
  • Can you wax over my tattoo?
Yes! We ask for you to wait until the tattoo is fully healed before waxing over it! If you have a recent tattoo which is fully healed we will still test the tattoo and wax over in small sections. If you do want to wax and have a recent tattoo we are able to wax around the tattoo.
  • How long do I have to let my hair grow to wax?
If you have shaved or used hair removal cream we recommend leaving the hair to grow for 2 - 3 weeks before waxing. As a comparison, the hair should be around the length of a grain of rice.
  • Can I shave between waxes?
You can...BUT we don't advise it! Once you have started waxing DITCH the razor! Shaving between waxes will undo all the work you have put into waxing, your hair will grow back quicker and is likely to cause iritation when it grows back out!
