Is shaving making your hair thicker!?

You either haven’t introduced yourself to waxing (why!?) or you did the exact opposite of what us therapists tell you to do and you shaved! Your hair has started growing back and you can feel thick hair sprouting through your skin and you have never regret a life choice as much as this! You blame the razor for giving you thick hair! But how does a thin blade cause your hair to grow back thicker!?….it doesn’t!

Razors are just that…razors. Your hair dresser can change the colour of your hair…a razor can’t! Your hairdresser can give you thicker hair…a razor won’t!

Your hair gets narrower towards the end. Shaving will cut the hair at a thicker part and give it a blunt end which makes the hair feel and appear thicker. If your hair does begin to change colour, volume or thickness this can often be a result of a hormonal change, medication or a medical condition.

Stop blaming the razor for something it has not done. You may however blame the razor for itchy and dry skin after shaving, for ingrown hairs, for quick regrowth and for taking up a lot of your time!

Give your fella his razor back and start waxing now…or when you have 2-3 weeks of hair growth!
