Without going into too much detail your hair growth cycle is a little more complex than your body replacing the hair when its removed. Your hair grows in cycles and for the benefits of waxing we want to remove the hair in its first stage of growth (anagen).
Why!? Because removing hair at this stage will damage the hair follicle, this damage over time can slow down regrowth and in some cases cause permanent damage meaning hairs will be unable to grow.
So how do we do this!? When you begin waxing it is recommended to wax every 4-6 weeks for your first few waxes. You will notice hairs growing back through, this is perfectly normal and these hairs should be left to grow. After around 3 - 4 waxes your hair is likely to have been manipulated into a cycle where by the hair growing out is in its first stage. It is then you will notice in most cases hair begins to thin and grow back slower. Once you have manipulated your hair into this routine you may be able to prolong your next wax appointment by a week or two and sometimes more.
Without getting into this routine and continuing to shave between waxes will prevent you from getting the most out of your wax.
