What To Expect From Your Waxing Experience

You took the leap and booked your very first wax! YIKES! You jump in your car and set off to your appointment and have NO idea what to expect! I can’t speak for all salons but here is what you can expect at The Wax Box!

1 We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we know it can be quite daunting going to your waxing appointment and we do our best to put you at ease from the second you walk through our door.

2. The assessment. It’s not that scary really, but for your safety we need to make sure you are waxable! We don’t mean in terms of length of hair but we will ask you to fill out a form with routine questions which will ask for information such as any medication you are taking. Everything we ask you has a purpose, some conditions or medications mean we cannot wax you right there and then and may need a doctors note before we can wax you. Yes it may be a little inconvenient but we are looking out for you! If you think you may need a doctors note you can book in for a consultation or give us a call to save you time.

3. Your clothes are just as important to us as you are. We do advise you to wear loose clothing to your appointment but old or new, your clothing is important to us too. You spent your hard earned money on them and we like to look after them as much as you. We have a clothes rail where you can hang your clothes and your bag to keep them tidy.

4. Getting undressed. Depending on what wax you are getting will depend on what clothing needs removing. We will always direct you with what needs removing incase you are unsure and provide towels to cover you up…and to keep your toes warm if you decide to take your socks off.

5. Skin preparation. We will asses your skin to look at the condition of our skin, if there are any areas we need to be cautious of and to determine the wax we use. We do advise you to shower a couple of hours before your appointment and to avoid moisturiser 24 hours before your appointment to make sure you get the best results.

6. The wax! With over 5 years experience focused only on waxing we have acquired techniques to give you a thorough, quick and relatively painless wax. I am confident to say you will walk out the door thinking it wasn't as bad as you thought!

7. The aftercare. Every client gets an aftercare advice card, we will run through this with you and if you have any questions please ask away, but it is yours to take home. If you have any questions when you get home you wish you had asked you can always contact us we are happy to help with any questions or concerns you may have.

8. Rebooking. Most clients will rebook their next wax at their appointment. We usually advise 4-6 weeks after your first wax to book in for your next. If you do book in and need to rearrange closer to the time we are happy to do this for you.

Hopefully this has put you at ease about your visit to The Wax Box.
